New nightstand setup
My flower crowns
Completely obsessed with this twine
These pictures were taken with my 50mm lens and I think I’m getting the hang of it and plan on using it for almost everything.
Anyway – I have a page long to-do list, mainly small steps I can cross out as I go. One of them is updating the Etsy shop as I started last night. Today I’m assembling new necklaces and doing the little tedious things like cutting out triangles and hole punching. Handmade is no joke! :)
I have been on the hunt for a perfect lacey window curtain for quite some time now. I fell in love with this (amazing) photo some weeks ago and couldn’t find anything similar. Until now. For only a few bucks, I scored this over the weekend at the thrift store during their 50% off sale. I may or may not be taking a lot of photos with this little curtain. Fair warning :)
Spent yesterday in the city with my sister, eating at Taste of Chicago and shopping along State St. up to the Water Tower. It was a hot day and my feet were pretty tired when I got home. I always enjoy sight-seeing wherever I am so I wanted to share that here :)

The Apple Store
We stopped by the Apple Store because my sister dropped her phone into the toilet (yes, really) but it seems ok and they were really nice. I also looked at the new iPads and can’t wait for my birthday!!!!!!
I took more pictures from some of the new stores we went to, like Zara, Topshop and Free People. Some have been around forever but I’m not downtown too often to visit. I’ll be posting few more inspiration things from the store displays later on!
My new lens came in the mail and I’m happy as ever! I’ve only just begun playing with it, it’s definitely a little different – you have to take multiple shots and hope that one of them is in focus (or some sort of focus.)
I can’t wait to see how this takes pictures outdoors and then I’ll give my final verdict. Happy Thursday!
Happy Friday to all! I’m glad the week has come to an end, I need a little rest from another crazy work week. Besides work, I actually accomplished and finished new necklace designs and that’s always a good thing.
My desk is usually very cluttered, it cannot be clean for more than a day. I always end up coming up with something and messing around with findings, chains or beads. Of course, in the middle is my giant computer. Ah the life of a crafter, huh?
Taken with Nikon D60 and Diana F+ lens
These pictures were taken some weeks ago with my Nikon camera and the Diana F+ toy lens. I bought the adapter from Photojojo
(LOVE their site!) and immediately started playing around with the possibilities.
I like the convenience of digital picture taking so having a “toy lens” effect is a plus. There’s no zoom so you really have to play with distance, just like using a regular film camera, and also changing the settings on the camera itself. Seeing the pictures on screen makes it easier to change settings and get the right shot!
Since I’m on the subject of camera lenses, I just purchased a new lens and can’t wait for it to arrive. I sold my other lens because it was just too bulky and a pain in the butt to switch. I’m pretty excited about this new one, it’s a 50mm prime lens that should get really nice shots with depth of field. I will definitely be taking that with me to Las Vegas and Grand Canyon next month (21 days)!
Have a great weekend!
The weather is very dark and gloomy over here, it’s been raining for a while (read: the weekend) and it won’t stop until Thursday. Waiting for some sun and to wear my flats. I spent the morning looking for things that would cheer me up and this is what I found!
A perfectly cute rain outfit
Lovely Sydney rocking her rain boots
Keep smiling :)
Happy Labor Day! It’s a lovely day off, I’ve had a crazy amount of inspiration all weekend and I’m so pumped to get to work. I’ll be listing new items on Etsy this week and I’m already thinking of phase two and three!
It’s going to be a short week – yay! And Renegade is next weekend so I cannot wait. I have something in my throat from yesterday’s shenanigans at Septemberfest, I’m going to nip this as fast as I can so no more sicky feelings. Weather went from 90 to 60 degrees! Crazies. Now I leave you with 2 Instax pix ;)
Viki (pre haircut) || pretty sky
Planning to get a whole lot done this week, I’m off to a wonky start but nonetheless it’s looking good. Today I’m sharing a few Instax photos I took over the weekend, still playing around with the camera. I notice some weird writings especially on the first scan, there must be something imprinted on my scanner. No idea…
After work I must stop by the post office, and then I’ll be making *new* necklaces. I have this sparkly metallic blue paint that makes me all happy inside. I think it would make a nice statement piece. Figuring it out as I go so bare with me. Besides all that, you can still grab a free bracelet
with the purchase of any necklace in the shop
PS. there’s still 13 days to enter the PO B-day giveaway!!!
It is Monday, yet again. The weather is slowly cooling down, thanks to the rain. We’ll see what else August brings, I’m personally looking forward to September because it’s my birthday month, and generally it’s a good month, yay!
Finally took my Instax Mini for a spin. Loving it. Mind you, I’ve been living in these pink Roxy shorts since I got them for a steal couple weeks ago. I look way tan here :D
More weekend pix below, from Instagram this time. I really want to get this Fisheye lens from Photojojo to add on to my iPod, very tempting, but it might just have to wait… anyway CUTENESS FOLLOWS!
I got a stick!! Yes, that sounds crazy. But I’ve been wanting to try this, so you see why I’m excited haha
My agenda today is filled with not fun stuff. I have to get groceries and gasp— CLEAN! I also started a DIY on Saturday, halfway done so now I just have to finish the other half. Posting for Wednesday DIY :)
I hope everyone had a great weekend, it’s already August, whoa!!! Here are some random shots from my iPod over the weekend, mostly interesting bits from the thrift store.
pretty neat Super 8 camera | ahhhmazing velvet green bench (I didn’t even look at the price!)
My sister modeling this vintage briefcase | my $3.50 southwestern blankets <3 & new Ikea bedsheets
Friday // Saturday
Anyone else getting tired of this 90 degree weather?! I looove going to the pool but it’s getting exhausting (I have a pretty good tan now though.) Today is all about figuring out how I’m gonna keep myself busy this week. Definitely restocking the Etsy shop
in a couple of days, and maybe doing a DIY! And probably eagerly anticipating the goodies I bought last week, aaahh!
PS: discovered a new *free* photo editing app BeFunky – love it!
