Room update

White is the winner. I picked out my new dressers and finally have space to store my stuff! I also got the 3-drawer dresser that will serve as a nightstand and also a good place to put my iPad or magazines and have them at an arms reach, always a good idea so I don’t have to leave my warm bed!

I hope everyone is having a great weekend!

DIY Dotted Inspiration

August 21, 2012 / Leave a comment?

Inspired by DOTS lately – I’ve been seeing this ‘technique’ all over Pinterest and other blogs as well and wanted to try it sooo badly! Not much to it, just as simple and effortless as it looks :)

Here’s my DIYed dotted wall as inspired by the ones above. The cost of this project was a whopping $5.23 – that’s the cost of the black vinyl on sale. I cut my 2 inch circles with my Silhouette Cameo cutter and just stuck them on where I liked.

Ten or fifteen minute fun project to decorate the wall, if I get bored all I have to do is peel of the stickers. I get a big grin every time I look at it :)

Floral inspiration for the home

July 09, 2012 / 1 Comment

I finally renewed my library card, long overdue – it’s been a year! Picked up a few books I’ve been eying but not willing to buy, found so much inspiration! :)

Here’s what I love from the book “Modern Vintage Style”

Crochet bed throw and knitted pillows

Floral pillows and L-O-V-E the lamp shade

More funky & fringed lamp shades

Crochet blanket with colorful neon accents

Whimsical kitchen and that animal lamp shade!

Lamp shades on my mind…

Bedroom Makeover Update!

July 05, 2012 / Leave a comment?

Hello blog readers! Today I’m posting a quick update on my bedroom makeover, it’s complete (kinda)!! It was well worth the wait and headaches, I couldn’t be happier and keep smiling to myself about my new bed. So lame, right?

If I wasn’t at work, I’d lay in it 24/7, a well deserved upgrade for my body

Is it bed time yet? ;)

My bedroom makeover

June 27, 2012 / 1 Comment

I’ve been looking forward to redoing my bedroom for about a year now, it’s getting close! I’m planning on making some big purchases very soon (mainly the bed and mattress!) honestly, counting the days. Everything else– pillows, covers, blankets, duvets, etc. is all ready for a big *BIG* new bed :D

I’m so excited, I won’t be able to fall asleep in it!

DIY Decal Glass Design

May 10, 2012 / 1 Comment

As inspired by my previous post, follow the directions below for creating and applying decal graphics!

Materials: glasses/cups, vinyl decal, transfer tape, scissors/Xacto knife, bonus points if you have a machine cutter like Silhouette.

Start by measuring the diameter of your glasses, mine were around 8.5″

I used my fancy Silhouette program and Illustrator to create triangle cutouts, but designs can be created with an Xacto knife or even scissors. Many craft stores carry pre-cut vinyl lettering and/or shapes that can be applied to many surfaces.

Take out extra material to reveal your design, apply transfer tape.

Peel transfer tape slowly with your design *tip* cut it in a few places to work with a smaller surface and apply one by one. When the tape sticks to your glass it might wrinkle and leave the design wrinkly (as seen on my final piece)

Ta-da you’re done!

This was super fun to create, I thought about doing all sorts of designs with words and icons – maybe make party favors or personalized gifts? I think this would be a nice present for mother’s day coming up! It might not be entirely washing safe so be careful if you attempt this project.

I hope you’ve enjoyed! :)
