Inspiration: Erin Wasson’s apartment

November 08, 2010 / Leave a comment?

I looove Erin as a model, she’s probably my favorite especially when it comes to her personal style. Seeing her apartment, I am not surprised I love it too. I’m crazy about the retro furniture with really kitschy accents like feathers and odd prints. Not to mention the exposed brick wall! Can I move in?

Vintage Crush

A few weeks ago I purchased my first vintage bottle. Now I can’t get enough of them! Perfect to use as a vase, an accent, or to just sit there and look pretty!

Hawaii in a cup

November 06, 2010 / Leave a comment?

A day doesn’t go by without me thinking about my vacation in Hawaii, it was heaven on earth. I am slowly planning another trip to the Aloha State, but in the meantime there is something that reminds me of the two beautiful weeks I spent there. Believe it or not – it’s a candle!

The Capri Blue Aloha Orchid candle from Athropologie smells just like the orchids and gardenias on every street in Oahu. It’s so authentic, it’s like I’m there all over again!

Thrift Treasure – Crochet Blanket

When I first saw this crochet blanket I thought it was going to be super pricey – even for a thrift shop. But I was pleasantly surprised to see it was only $3 – THREE DOLLARS! It’s so pretty… what a find!

I picked up a few of these coo-coo-kitschy knobs on my lunch break the other day. They are too cute – I could collect them just to look at how pretty they are haha

Custom cup design with a pen

November 02, 2010 / 1 Comment

I love drinking my tea in the morning — or any time of day really — especially now that it’s cold!

So… I customized my plain old cup with a few illustrations. I used a China Paint pen called Porcelaine 150, it’s basically like a marker but once you bake it in the oven, the designs and colors will not wash off by hand or in the dishwasher.

I only got the black color but they come in primary colors as well, I’m going to try that next…

DIY Inspiration: origami stars

November 01, 2010 / Leave a comment?

Another DIY inspiration — this time with a winter feel. I love these little origami stars, I might as well start on them now because they will take some time to learn!

I’m thinking they can be hanged, like here by Minimalen – OR they could be chain-linked to hang on a tree or anywhere else for that matter. What’s a good tutorial for these?

To DIY next: magazine bowls

November 01, 2010 / Leave a comment?

Definitely taking on this DIY next! I have a ton of magazines laying around and this will make them super useful, I can stash all my knick-knacks in these little bowls, or even decorate existing pots or vases.
