Neon Hearts

October 10, 2012 / 1 Comment

Happy Hump Day! It’s been an odd day but in a good way, I’m enjoying some tea right now and watching Youtube videos. I’ve been sucked into the UK X-Factor and really think the talent is out the roof. Probably more excited about it than the US X-Factor… it’s a little slower and I haven’t seen someone that really jumps out at me yet. I’ll wait and see of course. I sure love Simon and the addition of Britney and Demi is interesting, better than expected actually.

Anyways, it was a tad chilly today so I took out this comfy sweater, I bought it few weeks ago and just loved the pink heart, paired with the polka dot pants from Target. Can’t go wrong with that!

Quick snapshot from yesterday. The most comfortable shirt ever and warm enough for barely 70s weather. I think that’s a win/win situation.

Little late with these snapshots :)

I think I bought these booties between Winter and Spring, they were the last pair and crazy cheap. Most comfortable heels ever. I’m a flats girl so wearing heels aaalllways hurts and is uncomfortable. Not with these! Pretty happy now that I can wear them for Fall :)

Fall Fitted

While it’s still 80 degrees out today, I’m really excited about my new jacket. The cool pattern was what originally caught my attention, it also fit great. I think the fleece material is pretty cozy and I can’t wait to wear it come October and November. Stylish, cheap and comfy! ;)

Geometric

September 04, 2012 / 1 Comment

Today has been less than ideal but I’m going to make the best out of my night trying to relax. Today has also been very hot, Summer still lingers and I’m looking forward to lower temperatures this weekend for RCF.

I bought this fun geometric top over the weekend at Kmart. They have some really nice pieces this season, almost competing with Target if that’s even possible!

I’ve been so busy at work and not feeling up to anything at all, blogging and crafting wise. I came up with a few new ideas that I’m dying to try out and prototype so hopefully you’ll see those soon! Happy Tuesday :)

DIY: Leopard heart t-shirt

August 22, 2012 / Leave a comment?

Materials: plain t-shirt ($3.99), leopard square (or any other print) ($.99), pins, needle & thread, scissors, paper or cardboard for a template

Fold your paper in half and draw a half heart, cut around the line you drew – this will create a perfect heart shape. Note: make sure your paper and fabric are big enough for each other and also big enough for your t-shirt.

Pin the template to your fabric and cut around the shape.

Next, pin your fabric heart to your t-shirt – measure or eyeball it in the middle or where you like it best. Then sew! I opted to hand stitching my heart on, it would have been too much hassle with a machine, but feel free to use what you’re comfortable with.

And wear!

Maxi skirt surgery

July 31, 2012 / Leave a comment?

I thrifted this extra-extra-large leopard/animal print skirt maybe a year ago, I could wear it since it had a tie-string but all that extra fabric really weighted it down.

So finally I got my sewing cap on and cut off a huge chunk (practically in the middle) and made one simple stitch to patch it back up.

No tie-string necessary…

Originally, this was supposed to be a high-low skirt, but I don’t think I’ll be able to make another cut in it. I like it as is – boho chic goodness :)

An Insta-update

April 12, 2012 / Leave a comment?

I’ve had an exhausting day – WEEK actually! I’m ready to just pass out on the couch but first I wanted to make a small picture post of little goings on :)

An outfit I wore this week | Delicious cheese fries! | New phone case that I adore

Made much needed updates to the shop! Very happy with how it’s looking, I found a few lost necklaces and immediately listed them. I have a few more to make, am also waiting for new supplies to get in so I can make different styles. Can’t wait!

Painted triangles ready to be assembled

My mom bought me few storage boxes and now I’m organized!

Last but not least, this is a simple DIY bracelet inspired by this post

Now I’m off to do a quick workout so I can end this day on a positive note. Later!

Hazel’s Closet: Gypsy Dreams

March 28, 2012 / 1 Comment

My new go-to Summer shoes have arrived! I couldn’t be happier, no regrets about this purchase whatsoever. The Gypsy platforms are soooo comfy, loose on my skinny feet (no blisters!?) and they look cute with pretty much everything.

From dresses to tights, skinnys or flares … I’m expecting to look tall this Summer :)
