Hazel’s Closet: A pretty Fall dress

November 14, 2011 / 3 Comments

Happy Monday! I’m still feeling a bit grumpy and wishing the weekend could have been longer. But it’s a new week and time to get busy – Thanksgiving is next week! Time is flying by like crazy. Anyway, I wanted to share better pictures of this dress I bought recently. I fell in love with this print and had to get it. It’s perfect for Fall or even a Thanksgiving dinner. Fun :)

Fall plaid love!

Trucking through the week, tomorrow’s Thursday – my fav! Here’s a few snapshots of what I wore today, we had a very warm day compared to all the other 50 degree weather days.

Plaid shirt from Discovery ($5 on sale) | F21 jeans | Belt from UO | Minnetonka fringe booties

Uneventful but rather eventful week – I got approved for a car loan!!! All by myself with no cosigner, super huge revelation. I cannot wait to get my new *big girl* car, so exciting!!

I’m planning some Christmas DIYs for the next few weeks just in time to make something special for the holidays, I hope you guys tune in :)

Hazel’s Closet: More warmer days please!

October 25, 2011 / 2 Comments

Enjoying the sunny days we’ve been having, no clouds just sunshine. Hoping to keep winter away for maybe just a few weeks. I am, however prepared. I sported this little get-up on my Sunday grocery shopping trip. I haven’t noticed it before, but this striped tunic has a lovely retro mod feel, accompanied with bell sleeves! I guess you can say I was feeling mod :)

Unknown striped dress/tunic | Brown leggings from H&M | Blowfish flats

My hair was doing it’s own thing that day, awkward! I haven’t been feeling up to anything, by anything I mean making jewelry. I drafted over 20 items and they’re sitting ready to launch on Etsy. I keep feeling I need to make more but the actual action isn’t happening. I hate to see the shop look and feel empty, must fill pages and pages so I better get started…

Happy Tuesday!

Back to the 70s

October 17, 2011 / 2 Comments

Happy Monday! I’m sure glad it’s over because I think I’m coming down with something (ay not good!) – anyhoos, went to the mall finally yesterday and surprisingly didn’t even buy anything – couple pairs of fun colored tights, a striped skirt and these jeans. These jeans.

If I was alone, I probably wouldn’t even give these a second look, but since I was there with my mom and sister – I tried them on. My mom said she got her first pair of bellbottoms back in the 70s when she was in 8th grade!

After a quick fit-see I bought them for the hell of it, when I got home I was happy as can be – I’d be kicking myself forever if I didn’t buy them.

Vintage Bell Bottom Jeans from Forever 21 ($19.80)

Now, where to even wear these babies? Heels are a must because they’re looong. If I’d dress up for Halloween, maybe these would be perfect. Then again, they are perfect!

Got any recent happiness-inducing purchases?

Hazel’s Closet: Feeling a tad sunny

October 06, 2011 / 2 Comments

Thursday – I love this day! Just the thought of the weekend around the corner makes it all better. From the HC takeover last week I doubt more posts are necessary for a while but I wanted to post my cute outfit from today. I’ve been wearing this cardi waaay too often, I can’t help it, the color is adorable.

Yellow cardi originally from Old Navy | Tribal pattern top from Discovery | F21 jeans | (shoes: green Toms)

We are being spoiled with amazing 70-80 degree weather in this early October. I really don’t want to let go of it, especially with news like this looming in the near months. Wail! This weekend should be warm and I have my t-shirts and shorts handy, can’t wait.

In other news, I’m hoping to put up a new layout sometime this weekend – Monday is our first blog b-day! I’m planning some Etsy coupons and all that good stuff, and maybe finally new jewelry. I hope? I must finish one thing first… off to coding.

HC Takeover: Sunday best

October 02, 2011 / 1 Comment

Of course I almost forgot to post this, Sundays are a little lazy! Check out the takeover below :)

Going out with a sparkly golden bang! Today is the last day of my outfit takeover and it was the most fun creating outfits and lookbooks to go back to. I hope you guys enjoyed it or at least got some ideas for your own wardrobes.

I’m keeping it simple here with a white top that has golden stripes, my dark wash jeans and a whole lotta sparkle on the feet with my brand new TOMS. Talk about an outfit that will make you look like a million bucks!

Sparkly top | dark wash jeans | Triangles necklace from the shop | glitzy TOMS

I’m planning a busy week, I want to get some DIYs done and start stocking the shop with new things. Always lots on my mind… It’s our first bloganniversary this month, too!!

HC Takeover: Layer Saturday

October 01, 2011 / 4 Comments

Peeping in to post this nice and comfy layer outfit. I was a little blown away with myself after discovering this creation — going to the pumpkin patch? Grocery shopping? Being cute, period. Plaid can do no wrong!

What to do: LAYER – t-shirt, sweatshirt, button shirt, make it all work. Pair with some comfy jeans and moccasins, add embellishments in a necklace and small bracelet. Simple!

Stripe t-shirt | thin gray hoodie | blue plaid shirt | light wash jeans | Minnetonka moccasins | rock pendant necklace | simple bracelet

Happy first day of October! [[WHOA]]

HC Takeover: Friday!

September 30, 2011 / Leave a comment?

Friday Friday, gotta get down on Friday — in this outfit that is! This is a fancy look, I actually wouldn’t mind wearing this any other day, but it looks nice for a night out or the like. A funky tribal get-up I hope you’ll like :)

What to do: Dig up a fancy/pretty top and pair it with a blazer – it will make you look sharp! Throw on some skinny pants and heels and accessorize lightly.

Brown blazer from Forever 21 | flowy tribal top | navy blue legging pants | Aldo wedges | handbag
couple bracelets | Bunting necklace from the shop

I’m not done just yet – the week is not over! Two weekend posts are going up, you heard it here first. Keeping it casual and comfy because let’s face it – weekends are for being lazy!

Have a fantastic Friday

HC Takeover: Outfit Thursday

September 29, 2011 / Leave a comment?

Takeover round 4. Today’s outfit is inspired by (believe it or not) TV shows, this is something super comfy to run errands in, hang out, catch the game and whatever else might pop up during the day.

What to do: grab your favorite jeans, long sleeve tee and a tank you love but it’s getting to cold to wear (yeah) – pair with comfy boots, UGGs are ok in my book- that’s if they’re not falling apart, might be time to get a new pair. Accessorize with some beaded bracelets and a cute necklace. Done!

These are my picks:

Dark wash skinny jeans | solid color thermal | patterned layering tank | fringe boots
few beaded bracelets | pendant necklace from birdzNbees

I am most definitely wearing this outfit soon – I’m very protective of these fringe boots and only wear them when it’s not raining, I guess I’m weird like that but that way they will last longer! :)

Thursday is my fav TV day, with The Vampire Diaries and I’m sucked into The Secret Circle – guilty pleasures!! – anything you’re into right now?

PS. this is my favorite look — more tomorrow

HC Takeover: Humpday Wednesday

September 28, 2011 / Leave a comment?

Back with the takeover, halfway done with the week! So much closer to the weekend and relaxing… but not just yet! Today’s takeover is a little bohemian and I hope you’ll like it.

What to do: Match a funky top with some black pants, I mixed browns and blacks here. I got a little lucky with this top because it can transition easily from any season. Slip on some flats and you’re good to go!

*TIP* don’t be busy — with a busy pattern, go easy on the accessories ;)

Boho top from Charlotte Russe | black jeggings | Target messenger bag | Blowfish flats | few bracelets

Nothing beats flats weather! It’s not too cold but your feet are nice and snug. When I wear flats I always feel super good, they give the illusion of a slimmer bod, or at least that’s what I think!
