DIY: Boho Sandals

June 06, 2012

small payday loans very cheap

Materials needed: pair of sandals, scissors, needle & thread, ball fringe trim ($3.99/spool), gold ball chain

For this project I used an old pair of Forever 21 sandals. I like the gladiator look but on warmer days it felt like wearing full shoes. Before putting on my boho touches, I cut off a few leather pieces to open up the foot area.

Before & after, looks much better!

The whole process took about an hour and a half. Each piece of trim and chain was sewn on by hand with a regular needle and thread. I matched the red for my trim and used as close of a brown to the leather as I had.

Looking at the final product, you cannot see where the chain connects to the straps

Magic!

Overall I’m very pleased with the final product – my fingers hurt to prove it! This project may take a little bit more patience but it’s so worth it, you can get the same expensive look of those fancy brand sandals but on the cheaps! Have fun with it :)

Side note: I may add some jingle bells to the zippers just for kicks.
