Happy Friday DIY! Summer started this week so I thought it would be nice to create something fun and hippie just in time for Midsummer celebrations. I can’t say it’s something I celebrate but it would be really fun to – especially with this flower crown, that you can make yourself ;)
Materials needed: assortment of fake flowers – I got mine at the dollar store (the white ones are actually from Ikea), floral wire and tape, scissors, wire cutters. Patience and determination! haha

First, take a good chunk of the wire – enough to fit on your head comfortably. It doesn’t matter if it’s round or oval at this point, it will bend and twist when you wrap it with flowers. You can adjust it later.

I cut off small parts of the flowers with stems with my wire cutters (the wire was a bit tough) – I started placing it on my circular frame and wrapped it with more wire pieces, enough so it wouldn’t fall off and was secure.

Below are two pieces of red and white flowers, wrapped securely right next to each other.

After continuing my wrapping and selecting process I was able to secure and clean up the rough wire edges with the floral tape. It’s so easy because it just sticks to itself. Nice and clean!

All done!! This probably took about 35-45 minutes. I started losing my good daylight and some of the pictures are blurry. That’s what I get for being a good worker bee and not leaving work on time! haha

Happy Midsummer DIY!
