DIY: Stamped pouch

March 06, 2011

I tweeted about this little DIY this past week, as promised – here it is! I created a little pouch from scratch. I had this gray zipper laying around, some muslin fabric and ta-da. I carved out a cute stamp and I must say it turned out really cute.

See more of the process after the cut…

My supplies & materials: muslin, zipper, scissors and pins (and a sewing machine!)

I pinned my zipper to the fabric, however I had to redo this at least 3 times!

The final attempt came out as straight as it could be…

You can see the crookedness on the left … but other than that I’m pretty pleased with this :D

I cut off the corners so when I flipped it inside out it wouldn’t be so bulky

Final pouch and some carving blocks!

I carved out this cute, almost-snowflake stamp, grabbed my blue paint and rolled it on.

I couldn’t be happier with how this turned out. Even my sister was proud of my sewing skills! I used one of the pouches she made me as a guide, it took me a few tries but it’s cute and complete. I’m already using it to store my bracelets and things.

Easy factor: sewing skills needed

    zippers don’t like me, though.
